Pediatric First Aid & CPR

 Children aren’t simply small adults; their medical needs and responses to injury are unique. That’s why childcare providers, teachers and parents require specialized training. Our Pediatric First Aid & CPR course combines the Heartsaver Pediatric curriculum with pediatric CPR and AED skills.

Course Overview

 Children aren’t simply small adults; their medical needs and responses to injury are unique. That’s why childcare providers, teachers and parents require specialized training. Our Pediatric First Aid & CPR course combines the Heartsaver Pediatric curriculum with pediatric CPR and AED skills to ensure participants can respond effectively to emergencies involving infants and children.

What You’ll Learn

  • Pediatric CPR/AED: High‑quality compressions and breaths for infants and children; proper AED pad placement and energy settings.
  • Pediatric First Aid: Assessment, control of bleeding, bandaging, splinting, and managing medical emergencies such as asthma attacks, anaphylaxis, seizures, fever and dehydration.
  • Injury Prevention & Safety: Safe sleep practices, playground safety, water safety and prevention of poisoning and choking.
  • Team response: Coordinating with co‑workers and communicating effectively with parents and EMS.

Course Format & Length

 The class typically runs about four hours, combining demonstration, discussion, and hands-on practice with infant and child manikins. Upon successful completion, participants receive a two-year certification card, issued the same day for immediate use with employers or licensing agencies.
